Madhavan Nair (Mohanlal) is a middle-aged man who has come to toil in the deserts of the Middle East to fulfil his responsibilities to his family of two younger sisters who must be married, and a father whose debt has to be paid. He has neither found the time to get married nor to have a life of his own. Thoma (Nedumudi Venu) is a rich man living in the city with his daughter Eliana (Bhavana). Eliana wants to run away with her boyfriend. For this she needs money. So she fakes her kidnapping and demands money from her father. Her plan is spoiled due to Madhavan Nair. She asks Madhavan Nair and his friend Abdu Kupleri (Mukesh) to cooperate with her, otherwise she will get him arrested. Both of them reluctantly agrees. Together they do it one more time. This time they ask for more money. Eliana's uncle Jose (Maniyanpilla Raju) is a greedy man. He is planning to steal all the ransom money. He makes a deal with a local gangster to accomplish this. Ultimately, there is a real kidnap of Eliana carried out by Jose and the gangster. Madhavan Nair saves Eliana from them. This leads to Jose and the gangster being arrested.
